Shepherd

Text your church anything, any time. Shepherd gives each church one number its members can text, and answers from that church's own teaching.

An example conversation. The church and the messages are made up.

What it does

It never plays counselor. It answers from the church's teaching and brings in a person.

For church staff

A dashboard where staff add websites, PDFs and sermon videos, preview exactly what members will get, follow up with anyone who needs a person, and see what people are asking about. A weekly digest goes out by email or text.

Under the hood

Python services for ingestion and messaging, and a Next.js dashboard. Church content is split into passages, embedded with BGE-M3 and stored in PostgreSQL with pgvector, kept separate for each church. Texts come in through SendBlue, get routed to the right church by the number they were sent to, and are answered through Gloo AI from that church's passages. Every reply is checked so it never makes up a phone number, email or link.

Where it is

We built the first version at the Gloo AI Hackathon in October 2026, and it works end to end on a live number. It's early, and we're talking with churches in Jacksonville.
