You're an SRE; and when your coworker from the dev team finds out that prod might be down, what's the first thing that comes to your mind?

If such a scenario happens when you are not even notified by your DevOps tools, you need to definitely beef up the monitoring process and add synthetic monitoring to the mix.

Synthetic monitoring is nothing but the process of mimicking user actions using a script and running it from various locations.

This simple process can prevent a lot of outages and save yourself from questions from the top such as:

"Why didn't our monitoring systems alert when our prod was down?"

"Learning about an outage from the customer is embarrassing in the modern era. It's 2025, not 2015. SRE processes we have are not being very efficient"

Simply use Playwright and integrate it with PerfAgents to run it from global Amazon Web Services (AWS) locations. And avoid outages!
