Anthropic Claude Opus 4.7 is here.

Anthropic Claude Opus 4.7 is here.

The headline is coding, and rightly so.

Replit, Cursor, Factory, Notion, Vercel, Databricks, all reporting double digit lifts on the hardest tasks.

But the line that caught my eye sits further down the page: "more than three times" the image resolution of prior Claude models, and a new xhigh effort level for long, careful reasoning.

At ThyWord we care about a different flavor of hard.

A person whispers a prayer.

ThyWord hears them, understand what they are actually carrying, and match them to Scripture that meets them where they are. And then discards the original prayer.

When we do the matching, it's not the verse that sounds closest. The verse that fits, with the emotional weight.

That is a multimodal, long context, high stakes retrieval problem dressed up as a consumer app.

Every improvement in instruction following, honesty about limits, and sustained reasoning shows up directly in whether a young mom at 2am, with a baby who will not sleep and a mind that will not quiet, feels heard or feels like she talked to a chatbot.

Congrats to the Anthropic team. Excited to put 4.7 through its paces this week.
